Dr. Jonathan Bishinsky

Bio

Dr. Jonathan Bishinsky, FRCPC is the medical director of the York Cardiovascular Centre. He is a certified specialist with an extensive experience in a clinical cardiology practice. He is originally from Montreal and a graduate of McGill University, Faculty of Medicine Class of `83. He completed his residency training at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal. While in practice he obtained additional training in non-invasive cardiac testing including echocardiography.

He relocated to Toronto in 2004 and since then has been on active staff at MacKenzie Health, Richmond Hill where is works as a consultant in the Division of Cardiology. Since 2005 he joined the York Cardiovascular Centre as a cardiology consultant.

He is interested in clinical cardiology research and participates in ongoing trials in association with the Canadian Cardiovascular Research Network (CCRN). In addition to this he is an active member of the Research Ethics Board at Southlake Regional Health Centre where he reviews clinical trials.

Recently he has obtained courtesy privileges in the Division of Cardiology at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre (affiliated with the University of Toronto) where he hopes to be active in teaching and clinical research.

He is a member in good standing with the College of Physicians of Ontario as well as the Canadian Medical Association, Ontario Medical Association, and Canadian Cardiovascular Society. He has completed cardiology review courses with Harvard and the Cleveland Clinic and recently a preceptorship in echocardiography at the University of Alabama, Birmingham with Dr. Navin Nanda.

His practice is focused on clinical cardiology, non-invasive cardiac testing, and clinical research.
